Wes Okafor, Owner & Lead Insulation Technician
I’ve been running this crew since we opened in Torrance in 2016, and I’m still the one who pulls on the respirator for the jobs nobody else wants. I started in building envelopes after a stint in commercial HVAC where I learned that most comfort problems aren’t about the equipment, they’re about what the conditioned air escapes through. I hold a BPI Building Analyst certification and I’m the one who administers our blower-door tests, the pressurization readings that tell us, in a single CFM50 number, exactly how much air your home was leaking before we sealed it and after. My truck currently contains fourteen different species of attic rodent I’ve documented in photo records over the years. The raccoon in Walteria last March still ranks as the most indignant.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with us since 2019 and specializes in spray foam applications, the two-part chemical insulation that expands to fill every irregular cavity. He’s certified in low-pressure SPF installation through Demilec and Icynene, and he’s the one we send when a job involves cathedral ceilings or conditioned attics where fiberglass batts won’t perform. Before joining us, Marcus spent four years in marine insulation at the Port of Los Angeles, which is where he developed his tolerance for tight spaces and his particular hatred of fiberglass itch. He keeps a bottle of cornstarch in his truck at all times and claims it’s the only thing that actually works. He is wrong, but we let him have it.
Dana L., Service Coordinator
Dana answers the phones and schedules every appointment, which means she’s the live person you reach when you call (424) 704-9866 at 10 PM because your upstairs bedroom won’t cool below 78 degrees. She’s been with us since 2021 and knows every Torrance neighborhood’s particular building stock, from the postwar tract homes in Southwood to the hillside custom builds in Hollywood Riviera where access is half the battle. Dana holds a HERS Rater certification, which means she can read and interpret the energy compliance documentation that new construction and major renovation projects require. She grew up in Old Torrance and still lives three blocks from her parents, which she mentions only to explain why she knows exactly which streets flood during a hard rain and which attics have had termite damage twice.
Jin K., Apprentice Installer
Jin joined us in 2024 after completing the insulation technician program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. He’s currently working toward his BPI Envelope Professional certification while handling most of our blown-in cellulose and fiberglass jobs, the loose-fill insulation we blow to depth across attic floors. Jin’s particular specialty is air sealing preparation, the tedious work of foaming top plates, sealing can light penetrations, and chasing every electrical and plumbing chase before the insulation goes in. We’re required to seal first, then insulate, in that order, and Jin has the patience for it. He speaks fluent Korean, which has come in handy more often than you’d expect in Torrance’s older neighborhoods where grandparents sometimes manage the household decisions. He does not understand why so many attics contain VHS tapes.
